Khamrah and Khamrah Qahwa are the two fragrances people ask me to settle a debate over, usually while arguing in the comments of a review. Same bottle, same warm amber DNA, one key difference - coffee. Here is the honest take.

Khamrah, the original

Warm, boozy, dessert-like: dates, cinnamon, praline, vanilla, on a soft amber base. It smells like a winter evening and a plate of sweets at once. Sweet, projecting, long-lasting - the kind of scent that gets noticed across a room, and the closest thing most people will ever wear to Kilian's Angel's Share without the price.

  • Best for: evenings, cold months, the sweet-toothed, Angel's Share fans
  • Khamrah 3ml decant

Khamrah Qahwa, the twist

Same amber and cinnamon base, but the top is a proper roasted coffee note with the sweetness dialled back. The result is deeper, drier, more grown-up - the dessert with a shot of espresso poured over it. It does not replace Khamrah; it is Khamrah's moodier sibling.

The decision

Sweet and warm? Khamrah. Coffee and a drier feel? Qahwa. Both are some of the best-value, longest-lasting scents we stock, so you genuinely cannot go wrong - but if you are torn, that is what decants are there for. A 3ml of each costs less than a night out, and a week of wearing both back to back will settle it faster than any review.
